NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Holiday cheer could be felt in the north end of Cobourg on Saturday, December 4, 2021 as families and friends searched for their perfect Christmas tree at the seventh annual Family Christmas at Spry Christmas Tree Farm. With close to 200 trees sold in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation, a grand total of more than $30,000 was directed towards NHH Foundation’s Light Up a Life campaign.
This event was once again hosted by Sharron Wharram-Spry and Brian Spry, with returning sponsors Baker Tilly, Wharram Tree Service Ltd, Cameco, Tim Hortons on Toronto Road and Highway 28 in Port Hope, and Craft Food House. With more than $30,000 raised from the 2021 event, this is the most successful year yet and brings the grand total raised over the past seven years to more than $112,000.
“This event just gets bigger and better each year,” shares Rhonda Cunningham, Executive Director of NHH Foundation. “From the generosity of Sharron and Brian to the dedication of the volunteers – many of whom have never missed a year – to the support of sponsors, and of course both returning and new families who have made this part of their own holiday traditions; it’s truly incredible! We want to thank everyone involved for helping to raise funds in support of Light Up a Life.”
Proceeds from this year’s Light Up a Life campaign will help purchase cardiac monitors & a new central monitoring system in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at NHH. To learn more about the campaign, please click here.
