CIBC Pledges $60,000 to Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Representatives of CIBC and CIBC Wood Gundy – Ley Wealth Management Group attended Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) this week to announce a significant donation in support of the Equipped to Care program.

With a goal of raising $12 million by 2020, this donation takes us one step closer to renewing and upgrading diagnostic imaging equipment to allow us to continue to offer quality health care services close to home.

Anthony Day, CIBC General Manager for Cobourg and Port Hope banking centres , states “Gord Ley and myself, along with Kathleen Woodard are here today on behalf of CIBC and we are honoured to announce our continued support of the Northumberland Hills Hospital. Our bank is committed to causes that matter to our clients, employees and our communities in which we live. CIBC is committed to working with organizations that support research and services for people affected by cancer, as well as programs focused on prevention, early detection, treatment and ultimately finding a cure. In the past year, CIBC has invested more than $13 million dollars nationally to provide hope and support to those affected by cancer. It is my pleasure on behalf of my colleagues and CIBC to present this cheque to the Northhumberland Hills Hospital Foundation for $60,000 for the Diagnostic Imaging Department so that they can continue to provide the best possible care and services to the people in our community.

NHH Foundation Chair Louise Stevenson said, “without leadership donations like this one announced by CIBC, advanced diagnostic equipment would not be here for the patients. We are deeply honoured by the level of commitment CIBC has made to the Northumberland community.”

Immediately following the cheque presentation, representatives of CIBC toured the hospital and were able to see firsthand some of the equipment their past donations have supported.

With this most recent announcement, CIBC and CIBC Wood Gundy – Ley Wealth Management Group has provided over $250,000 in philanthropic support to Northumberland Hills Hospital (since 2001).
