NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY - This Saturday, December 5, from 10:00a.m. until 4:00p.m., Brian and Sharron Wharram-Spry will once again host the annual Family Christmas at Spry Christmas Tree Farm in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation’s Light Up a Life campaign.
Attendees are invited to visit the farm, located at 8329 Danforth Road (just East of Burnham Street) in Cobourg to pick or cut down their perfect tree for $70, with all proceeds directed towards the Foundation’s campaign.
“We are so grateful to the Sprys for their continued support of Northumberland Hills Hospital,” says Natasha Jacobs, Special Events Officer of NHH Foundation. “In a year when we’ve had to cancel so many of our usual in-person fundraising events, we’re excited they’ve been able to adapt this outdoor event to make safety a priority while still giving us all a chance to celebrate the holiday season for a great cause.”
New precautions to help keep attendees and volunteers safe during the 2020 event include:
- Monitoring the number of people within the event space to stay under capacity.
- Requiring masks be worn and asking guest to adhere to physical distancing guidelines
- Providing hand sanitizer to use when entering Tree Farm and making this available throughout
- Handing out gift certificates for participants to get chili from Craft Food House to reduce potential for crowding
Also supporting the event as sponsors are Baker Tilly, Cameco, Tim Hortons, and Craft Food House. Proceeds from this year’s Light Up a Life campaign will support NHH’s highest priorities.
