NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Those looking for a real Christmas tree this season will have a chance to get one while also supporting a great cause with the return of Family Christmas at Spry Christmas Tree Farm. On Saturday, December 4, from 10:00a.m. until 4:00p.m., Brian and Sharron Wharram-Spry will once again open their Christmas tree farm up to the community, with 100% of the proceeds from the day directed to Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation’s Light Up a Life campaign.
Attendees are invited to visit the farm, located at 8329 Danforth Road (just East of Burnham Street) in Cobourg to pick or cut down their perfect tree. All trees other than fir trees are priced at just $70, with firs priced at $100.
“We can’t thank the Spry family enough for their ongoing commitment to our hospital,” shares Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation Executive Director. “Over the past six years, this event has raised an incredible $82,000 and we look forward to seeing many familiar and new faces this year as we continue to come together in support of our hospital.”
Santa himself will be visiting from the North Pole for the day to capture photos and a complimentary chili lunch, hot chocolate, coffee and treats can be enjoyed in front of the warm bonfire. Those who are not looking to purchase a tree are still invited to attend to enjoy the festivities for a donation to the hospital. Precautions will be in place to align with public safety guidelines and protect the health of those in attendance.
Thank you to all event sponsors including Baker Tilly, Cameco, Tim Hortons, and Craft Food House. The primary goal of this year’s Light Up a Life campaign is to fund cardiac monitors and a new central monitoring system in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at NHH.
