Gearing up for NHH Foundation gala

COBOURG -- Each year, the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation relies on the support of the community for the success of its annual gala (this year's theme being Monet Impressions).

The foundation is pleased to welcome two new platinum sponsors for 2017 -- Cobourg Nissan and the agents of Royal LePage.

The gala is just one way the foundation helps fund critical upgrades and purchases of medical equipment, the press release stated.

"Equipment for the hospital is not funded by the government, so the involvement of our community supporters and businesses is crucial to the patient-care experience," foundation special-events co-ordinator and communications assistant Natasha Jacobs said.

The two new platinum sponsors have deep roots in the region, Jacobs added.

"Both of our children were born at NHH, and we want to ensure all families have access to the best and most up-to-date equipment possible," Nissan dealer principal Tyler Campbell said in the announcement.

"We are proud to be involved. and believe in supporting quality health care in our community."

Agents Mark Rashotte, Lindsey Edwards, Ian Bowen and Jamie Milner of Royal LePage are also teaming up to show their support.

"As local realtors, we understand the importance of having access to a well-equipped hospital in our county," Edwards said.

"This is very much on the mind of people moving to the area and, by partnering with the NHH Foundation, we can help ensure the hospital stays vibrant into the future."

"The significance of supporting your local hospital is truly immeasurable, as lives are changed and saved each day," Jacobs said.

"New and updated equipment is essential to the upkeep of our local hospital, and we are grateful to those who believe in this cause."
