NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY– Last week, representatives of SABIC Innovative Plastics Canada Inc. dropped by Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) to deliver 2000 face shields for the benefit of the hospital’s frontline health care providers and its patients.
SABIC, a global leader in diversified chemicals, operates a 220-acre facility in Cobourg and employs about 150 people at this location. This most recent donation is in addition to SABIC’s collaboration with partners such as the NHH Foundation and Venture 13 as part of the Northumberland.io Producer Alliance’s efforts to produce single use face shields in the very early days after the pandemic was declared.
“We know that many people are faced with extraordinary challenges during these difficult times. SABIC is honoured to provide support to our neighbors in need across the globe,” said Greg Adams, SABIC vice president for the Americas region.
“This is yet another example of how SABIC continues to show their commitment to our Hospital, and by extension the County,” says Rhonda Cunningham, Executive Director of the NHH Foundation. “With the unprecedented challenges we’ve faced with COVID-19, we especially appreciate the innovation demonstrated by the SABIC staff. We are most grateful to enjoy the level of support we do from SABIC and its employees.”
