For Immediate Release
November 13, 2025
NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Earlier today, Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation unveiled a refreshed brand, offering a more modern, accessible look, reflective of the organization’s commitment to community and to supporting NHH.
The brand refresh unfolded over several months through a thoughtful, collaborative process led by the Foundation’s Communications Committee. A standing committee of the Board of Directors, the Communications Committee is comprised of dedicated volunteers with extensive marketing and communications experience.
With a focus on improving accessibility and shaped by feedback from key stakeholders, efforts were made throughout the process to create a brand that preserved the legacy and established reputation of the Foundation’s previous look while introducing a more modern, cohesive alignment with the hospital’s overall identity.
When NHH introduced its new icon in fall 2023, featuring many hands reaching outwards to reinforce the hospital’s commitment to care and compassion for the community, it set the tone for connection. The Foundation’s new icon carries this story forward, bringing two of these hands to form the base of a heart to honour the imperative role community plays in supporting and shaping the care delivered.
While hospitals in Ontario receive operational funding through the Ministry of Health, communities are responsible for funding capital equipment. NHH Foundation’s new icon visually brings this dynamic to the forefront and highlights the importance of community donations as a foundation to help invest in our hospital to enhance and expand the care provided, support the attraction and retention of talented clinical expertise, improve the quality of life for patients and the community, and ultimately save more lives.
“Our new brand is a reflection of the people – and the heart – that make NHH the place it is,” shares Jennifer Gilmer, NHH Foundation’s Manager, Communications and Philanthropy. “We are grateful to the volunteers who led the rebranding process and to all those who provided their thoughts and feedback along the way, and we are excited to carry this new look into the future
as we continue to grow with our hospital.”
The Foundation’s new look rolled out across communications channels on November 13, and can now been seen across all digital platforms as well as on promotional and print materials throughout the hospital and community. Accompanying the brand refresh was the launch of the Foundation’s new website, featuring the updated look and new photography, and telling the organization’s story in a more accessible, user-friendly way.
