Volunteering with NHH Foundation is a wonderful way to give back to our community while getting to know other like-minded individuals.

Volunteers help raise critical funds to provide the best healthcare experience possible for west Northumberland patients, and many learn new skills and develop new friendships along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive training?

Yes. All volunteers will be required to attend a training or orientation session to help better understand the mission of NHH Foundation and your role on our team.

What types of volunteer opportunities currently exist?

Volunteers serve in a multitude of ways including Board and committee leadership and special event fundraising.

Will I be required to provide references?

In some roles you may be required to provide personal references and/or a police verification check.

Is there a dress code in place for volunteers?

Depending on the nature of the volunteer role, there may be special consideration for proper dress. This will be communicated in advance of your volunteer assignment.

It's Smile Cookie Week!

NHH Foundation has been selected as the Smile Cookie recipient by Tim Hortons restaurants in Port Hope, Cobourg and Colborne.

From April 27 – May 3, 2026, Smile Cookies sold at local restaurants will help raise funds for NHH’s Emergency Department. Be sure to purchase your cookies this week and turn a small treat into a big difference for patients seeking emergency care in our community.
