NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – The Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation Board focused on the year ahead at their April Meeting, approving a new Operational Plan and Budget.
“April marked a fresh start to our year,” shared Foundation CEO, Rhonda Cunningham. “We’ve got ambitious fundraising goals, a plan to help get us there, and many exciting priorities to fund, which will truly make a difference for those seeking care at our hospital.”
The Foundation, which operates on a fiscal year of April 1-March 31, is comprised of a dedicated team of volunteers and staff who are passionately committed to improving health care and quality of life for those in west Northumberland. While government funding sustains hospital operations, it does not cover the critical equipment and technology that directly touch patients and enable life-saving and life-changing treatment every day. This is where the Foundation steps in: funds raised each year support medical equipment and technology, staff education, and programs at NHH.
“In the months ahead, our goal is to raise a minimum of $4.1 million,” continued Cunningham. “These funds will support many priorities across our hospital, including a new mammography unit, cardiac monitors, sterilizers, neonatal warmers, updated surfaces, scopes, stretchers, and more. Our goals are more than ideas on paper; they translate into real change for thousands of people in our region.”
With the Operational Plan and Budget now approved, the Foundation team is looking ahead with energy and optimism. In the coming year, the community can expect many meaningful ways to get involved in supporting the hospital; from the return of well-loved signature events to the introduction of new and exciting initiatives designed to deepen impact and connection.
