NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Thousands of smiles were made, enjoyed, and given across the Northumberland community during the 2026 Smile Cookie campaign, resulting in more than $88,000 raised for Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation. Fueled by the incredible generosity of volunteers, customers, and local Tim Hortons restaurant owners, this tremendously successful fundraiser will make a difference for patients needing emergency care at NHH.
“We are incredibly grateful to the owners of our local Tim Hortons restaurants who selected us as the recipient of this program,” shares Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation CEO. “And we are truly amazed by the results and overwhelming community support. In addition to the crucial funds raised for our hospital, we saw hundreds of people raise their hand to volunteer their time to make a difference and we cannot thank them enough.”
Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign took place from April 27-May 3, with funds raised in all Port Hope, Cobourg, and Colborne stores directed in support of NHH’s Emergency Department. Over the course of the week, more than 250 volunteers signed up for shifts to decorate cookies and make this week extra special.
“Whether you gave your time, placed a bulk order, or stopped in to buy cookies in support: thank you,” continues Cunningham. “This success is a testament to our community.”
