Dedicated professionals with a wide range of expertise, our staff team is committed to ensuring every dollar raised makes a meaningful impact on patient care and supports our hospital.

Rhonda Cunningham
Chief Executive Officer

Rhonda joined the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation as a member of a small staff team in September 1995 and was appointed as the Executive Director in 1997, followed by her appointment as CEO in 2022.

To date (2025), she has helped raise over $88.5 million in support of Northumberland Hills Hospital, including three successful capital campaigns – one of which funded a new hospital (2003). In 2011, Rhonda earned her Fellows professional designation from the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy – its highest honour.

A lifelong resident of Northumberland County, Rhonda has extensive experience serving her community as a volunteer leader, most notably with Trinity United Church, The Help and Legal Centre of Northumberland, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise.

Office & Data Coordinator

Wendy joined the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation in July 2002 as the Executive Assistant. With over 25 years’ experience, Wendy provides front desk reception with her main responsibility to ensure donation receipts and thank you letters are issued in a timely fashion. Financial reporting and providing support to the Foundation staff team round out her responsibilities. Wendy currently lives in Roseneath with her one son.

Jennifer Gilmer
Manager, Communications and Philanthropy

Jennifer Gilmer joined the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation in September 2019. She coordinates the Foundation’s media relations program and is responsible for creating and distributing both internal and external communications pieces for a variety of audiences across both digital and print platforms. She is driven to inspire the community to give their support to ensure exceptional patient care is readily accessible.

A graduate of the University of British Columbia as well as Loyalist College, her background is primarily in marketing and communications in the tourism and non-profit industries. She has long had a passion for the healthcare industry and for the community of Northumberland County, where she was born and raised.

Communications and Special Events Coordinator

Katie Ito joined the Foundation in November 2024 as the Communications and Special Events Coordinator.

Katie supports the planning, development, and delivery of print, digital, social and multimedia communications to build both internal and external awareness of the Foundation, special events and key projects. Katie also assists in the events and community engagement portfolio. Katie’s background is in communications and events, with her degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. As someone who was born and raised in Cobourg, Katie is excited to be working for a Foundation that has been a part of her life growing up.

Interim Events Specialist

Courtney Ker joined the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation in March 2025 as the Interim Events Specialist. She is an experienced Events Specialist with expertise in event coordination, marketing, and community engagement. Skilled in logistics, sponsorships, and social media, she excels at creating impactful events and fostering community connections.

Courtney is excited to bring her skills to the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation and contribute to successful events during Megan Fluxgold’s maternity leave. She holds a diploma in Advertising and Public Relations from Georgian College.

Community Engagement and Events Specialist (currently on maternity leave)

Megan Fluxgold joined the Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation in July 2021 as the Community Engagement and Events Specialist. Megan plays a vital role in engaging with members of our community and in the successful execution and growth of special events with Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation, such as the annual Gala, Wine & Ale in the park, and other community fundraising events. Her background is primarily in Marketing & Events in the media and retail industry. Megan grew up in Northumberland County, and after moving to and working in the Toronto area, she’s thrilled to be back home here in Northumberland.
