NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – Local business, HTM Insurance Company, has pledged $250,000 to help fund key projects and medical equipment and technology at Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH). This commitment builds upon HTM’s long-standing history of supporting NHH Foundation, which the company has made a consistent giving-priority since 2001.
“Our decision to increase our giving to NHH Foundation over the next five years was made at the level of our Board of Directors,” shares Alec Harmer, President and CEO at HTM Insurance Company. “After learning of the Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care campaign and the significant investment our hospital is required to make to ensure modern care stays in our community, we just had to step up. We see the value in having excellent health care available in the community we are so proud to be a part of.”
HTM Insurance Company was formed in 1898 in the spirit of neighbours helping neighbours. Today, HTM insurance offers products and services across eastern Ontario including farm, automobile, residential, and commercial insurance. Their mission is “To Protect Your Future as if it’s Our Own”. HTM’s mission extends beyond insurance to making a difference in the communities the company services. HTM has given back to its community by supporting numerous non-profit organizations and events.
“Looking back, I can’t remember a time HTM hasn’t been there for our Hospital, supporting whatever initiative we undertake,” says Rhonda Cunningham, NHH Foundation CEO. “This most recent pledge is yet another example of how deeply HTM cares for its community. It is clear they truly live their values – making a difference, doing the right thing, and acting with heart.”
The company’s latest pledge of $250,000 builds on their traditional support of the Foundation’s annual gala event. HTM has been consistently supporting the hospital since making an initial $50,000 pledge in 2001 to help build NHH and has donated an incredible $226,400 since. With their annual commitment in support of the gala since 2006, the company is also the longest consecutive platinum gala sponsor. This latest gift is inclusive of continuing their platinum-level sponsorship for the next five years, a $50,000 commitment, with an additional $200,000 pledged in support of the Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care campaign.
