Meet the NHH Auxiliary Members

Dedicated volunteers who are Philanthropists.

An incredible milestone was reached recently by members of the Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Auxiliary. The NHH Foundation Board wants to recognize and celebrate their achievement. While the Auxiliary usually turns money over to the hospital in a low key manner, this milestone was just too big to ignore. Last fall, in a presentation to President and CEO Linda Davis, members of the Auxiliary gave her a cheque for $78,484. This brought the total amount the Auxiliary has donated since the hospital opened in 2003 to a staggering $2 million! With the annual cheque presentation at the Auxiliary AGM in May, this total is now $2,200,000!

On any given day of the week, you will no doubt spot a hardworking volunteer providing service at the hospital. If you look out into the community, you will also see volunteers running successful enterprises like The Little Treasure Shop, Petticoat Lane, the HELPP Lottery, spring and fall plant sales, projects that raise approximately $150,000 annually, and more!. The faces that you see belong to caring individuals looking for a way to give back to their community; people wanting to help other people. These men and women are NHH Auxiliary members. Hospital volunteers.

Auxiliary members play a critical role in strengthening the care at our hospital. They literally are everywhere. From delivering water jugs to patients, making and selling craft items, selling Nevada tickets, working in the gift shop and providing a warm welcome at the main entrance and in various clinics throughout the hospital.

“This year our volunteers have given over 41,000 hours towards the care and support of our patients,” says Pat Page Hoisak, Auxiliary President. “Theirs is a gift of time, energy and kindness. We love what we do and appreciate this kind recognition of our efforts from the NHH Foundation Board.”

Congratulations to our Auxiliary and thank you for everything you do to make the care at our hospital the best that it can possibly be.

Members of the NHH Foundation Board salute the dedicated volunteers at our hospital. They are an extraordinary resource.
